What is BOTOX?
Botox Cosmetic in Tampa. Botox; is the name given to the pharmaceutical product consisting of botulinum neurotoxin, which is obtained in a pharmaceutical laboratory from a bacterium called Clostridium botulinum.
Eight immunologically distinct forms of botulinum neurotoxin are produced, the designations of which are TbA through TbH.
The subtype most commonly used for medical or cosmetic application is botulinum toxin type A (BtA). The ability of botulinum toxin to produce muscle paralysis is exploited for use as a medication in the treatment of certain neurological diseases, and as a cosmetic product for the treatment of facial wrinkles.
Botox Cosmetic in Tampa / Allergan Injections
The best known commercial brand of this form of cosmetic botulinum toxin is called Botox, this drug is produced and registered by the company Allergan; which obtained official patent in the U.S. for aesthetic use in 2002 and is the one we use in MediCruz.
Many other commercial presentations of botulinum toxin type A are marketed for aesthetic use in the world. Although popularly known as Botox to any aesthetic drug of this type, it should be noted that Botox is a registered trademark and the patient should be promptly informed about the brand of the drug to be applied.
Wrinkle-free forehead and eyebrows. How is it done?
Aesthetic Botox injections are used to treat persistent lines on the forehead, between the eyebrows and on both sides of the eyes, known as goose bumps.
At MediCruz a medical professional will perform an examination of your expression creases and permanent lines that persist at rest. You will be able to know exactly the planning of your treatment, in terms of the location of the injection points and the amount of Botox that will be used in each of these. In this way you will be able to know the extent and value of the planned treatment. Botox will be injected directly into the muscles, using an extremely fine needle that will minimize the occurrence of pain or damage to blood vessels.
The result of this botox injection is that it will produce a temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe expression lines in the treated areas.
The effect begins to be observed approximately from the 4th day of the injection and become fully visible between seven and ten days. With Botox treatment you will gain a wrinkle-free, smooth and relaxed forehead.
However, the anatomy of each person is different, so your results may vary, which is why in MediCruz we perform a follow-up consultation after two weeks in order to touch up any imperfection that warrants it.
How long can Botox last?
The effects can last four to six months, so “touch-up” treatments may be necessary to maintain these results. Some patients with multiple botox sessions performed find that subsequent treatments last longer. This may happen because the muscles weaken from lack of prolonged use.
At MediCruz you will be evaluated and treated by a medical professional trained and certified in this type of treatment.
The Botox (Allergan) that will be injected in our office is guaranteed in its quality and origin, which allows you to obtain an optimal and lasting result, with minimal occurrence of complications.
